How do I use the Bulk Uploader to import spreadsheets that contain Tags or Campaigns?

This article covers how to format spreadsheets containing Campaigns and Tags before importing into your Alpine database.

Prior to utilizing the Bulk Uploader to upload your data, it's essential to ensure that your spreadsheet is correctly formatted. If you're importing Actions and want to attach a Campaign  , then the column headers should reflect the name of your Campaign Category. Similarly, if you're importing Tags, the column header should reflect the name of your Tag Group. Each row of data should align with the name of your Campaigns/Tags.

Example: Campaigns

Say you have a spreadsheet containing donations and you want to track how Constituents are donating to your organization. For each donation made, you've recorded their payment method. The Category in your Alpine database will be Payment Method and each Campaign will correspond to the different payment types.

Once you begin uploading your data, you will map your Category column (in this case Payment Method) to the Payment Method Category in your Alpine database. Each row will be matched to the corresponding Campaign, with blank cells being skipped.

Example: Tags

In another scenario, imagine you're uploading a spreadsheet filled with details about your Constituents, and you wish to categorize them using Tags. The column header should match the Group name in your Alpine database, such as Constituent Type. Each entry in the column will represent a specific Tag assigned to that Constituent.
