# How to import Constituent names using the Bulk Uploader

## This article covers the best practice for importing Constituent names into your Alpine database.

When importing your spreadsheet using the Bulk Uploader, it's highly recommended to merge your Constituent names into a single column. Instead of having separate columns for First Name and Last Name, it's better to combine them into one. This simplifies the mapping process during the import, as you can easily select your Name column from the spreadsheet and map it directly to the \[Base\] Name field in Alpine. By following this correct name formatting, you ensure that your data is accurately imported and organized.

#### Correct name formatting ✅

#### Incorrect name formatting ❌

Individually mapping each of your Name columns from your spreadsheet to the same Destination Alpine field is incorrect.
