Get Connected by Galaxy Digital Volunteer Management Integration

This article gives an overview of the Galaxy Digital volunteer management integration for Alpine.

Overview

With our integration with Galaxy Digital’s Get Connected volunteer management software, users can seamlessly sync volunteer opportunities and Constituent data with their Alpine database on a nightly basis. This streamlined process provides a holistic perspective on supporter engagement, eliminating the need for manual data transfers between platforms.

Galaxy Digital

Galaxy Digital is a leading provider of volunteer management software, known for its user-friendly, customizable solutions that help organizations effectively manage and engage their volunteers. The company’s suite of software caters to various organizations, including states, cities, colleges, faith-based groups, healthcare, and more is recognized as one of the industry's top online and mobile fundraising platforms.

From its founding, Galaxy Digital’s volunteer management software has helped thousands of organizations, including the United Way, Habitat for Humanity, and the Humane Society, log over 8 million volunteer hours and generate nearly $200 million in community impact.

How does it work?

Once the integration is connected, users with a Galaxy Digital account will have their Constituent and volunteer data synced into their Alpine database. On a nightly basis, Alpine will pull all Constituents and volunteering data from the last time it synced—meaning that Alpine will be at most only 24 hours behind the latest data within Galaxy Digital.

FAQs

How are Constituents matched?

When looking up a pre-existing Constituent to match within Alpine, the User ID from Galaxy Digital is prioritized. After User ID, the integration will search the “Email” field, then any Custom Fields of type “Email” to return the first matching Constituents. If no match is found, then a new Constituent will be created.

Does this integration push any data into Galaxy Digital?

No, since the goal of this integration is to pull information from your Galaxy Digital, your Humanitru Alpine database will not push any information into your Galaxy Digital account—it will only pull information. This is to prevent data overrides. If you update a Constituent in Alpine, that information will not automatically update in Galaxy Digital.

How are Actions matched?

Similar to how transactions are matched into Alpine using a Transaction ID, Actions from Galaxy Digital are matched using the Hours ID field.

What happens if I update volunteer hours previously entered into Galaxy Digital?

The integration not only pulls in new hours every night but also updates the status of the  are not only pulling new hours every night but will also update the status of the hours that are already in the system. We need to make sure that we are not duplicating hours in the system.

Will this integration work with Galaxy Digital’s other volunteering platforms?

Galaxy Digital currently has three volunteering platforms:

  • Shift - For small organizations or those with limited volunteer management needs.
  • Sustain - For growing volunteer programs that require a comprehensive set of management tools.
  • Amplify - For large organizations or those with complex needs, such as multiple locations or programs managed by different coordinators.

Humanitru’s integration can integrate with all three of Galaxy Digital’s three volunteering platforms (Shift, Sustain, and Amplify) using the same base API.
