Sending Emails Directly from a Constituent Profile

Overview

The Humanitru database now makes it faster to reach out to constituents by email. Every email field on a constituent's profile is now a clickable link that opens your default mail client pre-addressed and ready to send — no more copying and pasting addresses manually.

To ensure your sent email appears on the constituent’s profile, you will need to use the BCC functionality as well – [your shorthand]@bcchumanitru.com must be BCC’d on the email you send.

How It Works

When you open a constituent's profile, any email field — including the built-in Email field and any custom email fields your organization has added (e.g. Secondary Email, Tertiary Email, Quaternary Email) — now displays a Send link with an envelope icon (✉) next to the field label.

Clicking Send opens your default mail client with the constituent's email address already filled in.

What to Expect

  • The Send link appears automatically on all email fields — no setup or configuration required.

  • It works for both the standard Email field and any custom fields your organization has configured with the Email field type.

  • The link only appears when a single, specific email address is present. It will not appear on rows that show multiple constituents at once or on fields with no value.

Requirements

Your computer must have a default mail client configured (e.g. Outlook, Apple Mail, Gmail desktop app). If clicking the link does nothing or prompts you to choose an app, check your system settings to set a default mail application.
