# How to cancel a recurring transaction through the Transaction Portal

## This article covers how to cancel recurring transactions through Humanitru's Transaction Portal.

### Background

The instructions in this article are intended to be shared with donors and members who want to cancel a recurring transaction through the Transaction Portal interface. 

### Canceling a recurring transaction

Follow these steps to cancel a recurring transaction.

1. Navigate to the [Transaction Portal](http://pinecone.humanitru.com/portal).
2. Enter the email address on file associated with your past and future transactions with the organization.

3. Click **Lookup.**
4. An authentication email containing a link to the Transaction Portal is then sent to your inbox.
5. Open the authentication email and click the embedded link for **Transaction History**. This will redirect you to the Transaction Portal.

6. From your Transaction Portal, locate the future transaction to want to cancel and then click **Change Next Payment**.
7. Click the **Change Payment Method** tab.

8. Click **Cancel Recurring Payment**.

9. Confirm your cancellation. A pop-up window will appear indicating that you have successfully canceled the future transaction.
