How to add Batch Actions
Use our Batch Action feature to quickly add actions in mass. This is great for adding multiple check donation entries.
Batch Actions let you enter a large stack of Actions into Humanitru quickly, without adding them one at a time through a Manual Action or Action Blueprint. This is especially useful when you're working through a stack of checks or any other group of Actions that need to be typed in by hand rather than imported.
If you have a CSV of action data ready to go, use Bulk Upload instead. Batch Actions is built for manual, in-office entry — for example, keying in a stack of mailed-in checks.
Accessing Batch Actions
- Click your name/profile icon in the top corner of Humanitru.
- Select Batch Actions from the menu.

Setting Up Default Values
When the Batch Actions screen opens, you can start typing in Actions right away. However, if several Actions in your batch share the same data, it's faster to set those as defaults on the first row before adding the rest.
Common defaults to set up front include:
- Action type — for a stack of checks, this is typically Donation.
- Date — if all the checks were received or processed on the same day.
- Note — add a consistent prefix here, such as "Check Number:", so you only need to fill in the specific number for each entry.
- Campaign — if most of the batch is going to the same Campaign (e.g., General Operating Fund).
- Donation Type — such as Check, if the whole batch is checks.
Once your defaults are set on the first row, copy that row down to create as many rows as you need for the rest of your batch.
Entering Each Action
For each row, fill in the details specific to that Action:
- Constituent
- Gift amount
- Check number (if using a Note prefix, just add the number)
- Any additional details or attachments
If a constituent has outstanding pledges, Humanitru will surface them right in the Batch Actions view. You can click Apply to link the donation to the existing pledge, then continue entering the rest of the batch.
Saving
Once all rows are complete, click Save. All of the Actions in your batch are added directly into Humanitru.
