BCC Functionality
Background
Humanitru's BCC functionality allows Alpine users to log personal email communications into a Constituent profile directly from their email provider (Outlook, Gmail, etc) when sending emails.
Previously, you had to copy and paste emails from your personal inbox into Alpine in order to keep track of those communications. This functionality lets you blind carbon-copy an email address from your personal inbox when sending emails to log the email directly to the corresponding constituent profile in Alpine. This allows you to pick and choose which emails you want to log, instead of logging all email communications by default, protecting the privacy of your supporters. We hope that this feature saves time and streamlines your stewardship process.
Alternative
If a client is using the BCC functionality to communicate with an existing Constituent but cannot see their reply, the best alternative is for them to use Humanitru's Microsoft Outlook integration. This will allow them to set up syncing rules to log both outgoing and incoming emails sent from specific inboxes directly to their Alpine database.
Criteria that must be met for emails to be synced
-
Email that is BCCd must be
deployment@bcchumanitru.com -
The “From” address must be an Alpine user that has enough privileges to enter data (e.g. entry only, or Admin as of the writing of this comment)
-
At least one of the “To” / “CC” addresses must match a Constituent already in the database
